Borderlands Legends [$4.99 / $6.99] hit the New Zealand App Store very early this morning, and we’ve got our greasy mitts all over this game. Unfortunately, once you get it on your device, all the strange things 2K was doing like revealing the game in a strategy guide starts to make a lot of sense as the game is just not good. The best way to describe it is by likening it to the “GameBoy version" of popular video games, and anyone alive in the 80’s should know exactly what I mean.
If not, the trend at the time was to take popular IP, and due to either the limitations of the platform or due to development budget restraints, water it down to the point that the only recognizable elements that remain is the name on the box and the characters used inside the game. That’s certainly the case here, as they’ve removed basically everything we like about Borderlands games in exchange for… Having a game on the App Store with “Borderlands" in the title, I guess.
We’ll have a full review of the game up to coincide with the US launch at 11:00 PM Eastern tonight, but it’s not looking good. In the meantime, you can join the launch day party in our forums where initial impressions are similarly not positive.

No minigore Zombies?
Yay, another week of garbage games. iOS is looking good. :)
Garbage?
If I remember right, that guy is a Gameloft FPS fanboy who doesn't understand the real beauty in iOS gaming and only sees the action games. Ignore his stupid comment, this week looks great!
How am I trolling? Lol
Your sarcasm is muddled by a lack of explaining yourself. When text is the only way to communicate, one kinda has to explain everything about their statement in as effective a manner as possible, otherwise people get offended and/or confused as to what you REALLY meant.
It's not just fanboys or haters that feel burned, though; I still found your initial comment confusing as hell, and I try to be as impartial and un-judgmental as possible. Are you being sarcastic about the state of iOS gaming, or are you sarcastic about this week's releases being garbage? Read either way, it implies one of two different meanings: iOS games are awful at this point in history and this week's lineup is evidence proving that, or this week's games look awesome and gives you hope that things stay this way. These two meanings do not agree with each other at all.
So which meaning is it?! WHAT DO YOU REALLY THINK ABOUT THE SUBJECT?!?!
This is where your comment becomes the comment of a troll: all YOU have to do to get people mad is to just post this ambiguous statement and sit back as people fight over what you REALLY meant, EVEN IF YOU MEANT ABSOLUTELY SHIT WITH IT. It's a nasty bullying tactic that causes other people to fight each other without the bully getting pulled into the fray, and YOU, aka the troll, get the added bonus of sitting back and cackling manically while the thread dissolves into chaos.
In case you didn't know, PEOPLE FUCKING HATE THAT SHIT HAPPENING. If it happens again, I guarantee something bad will happen to you because people will get the idea of what you're doing and focus their anger squarely on you, even if you're an otherwise okay guy. Because they hate what you did to them, and they will find a way to get payback.
I'd recommend you re-think your actions. Trolls are people too, and sometimes good people act trollish by accident, and yadda yadda yadda. As such, I'd like your opinion on what you think about what I said, if you're willing to share it.
Sincerely,
Mr. Album
I'm not going to read what you've type to me, so I'm take as disrespect lol.
I know any comment is feeding the troll, but here's the tl;dr version:
You're a troll.
tldr
Obvious troll is obvious...
Dang. I thought that by halo 4 he meant the actual game. But that will never happen lol.
Wait so scanning Doritos and Mt. Dew isn't a real game? Damn...
I'm actually looking forward to Knights of Pen and Paper. Looks like it could be an interesting take on the RPG genre.
Other than Arc Squadron, I probably won't try the others. Arc Squadron looks pretty good looking at the previews.
Well, the Halo series is so ****ing awesome, I'll probably try that Halo 4 thing for the hell of it.
Arc squadron. Everything else looks like filth. Thought minigore zombies and wraithborne were coming today?! Oh well. Angry Birds Star Wars next week!!! VERY EXITE!!!
where the crap is RAD soldiers? It had an october release date according to their ad...what is up with devs and release dates these days >.>
Arc Squadron all day long man!
Arc Squadron only 0.99 :D definitely picking this up
Allright! I'll be doing some barrel rolls pretty soon!
I thought we'd have some exciting releases with it being a holiday and all. Sigh. There's always next week.
Knights of Pen and Paper should be a must buy for everyone!
I don't know, the writing looks pretty bad.
Arc squad and knights for me!
Now explain how to get spit Pepsi off my iPad screen
I'm heading to 7-11. Can I get you anything?
Just bought Arc Squadron on the german app-store. Doesnt seem to be official yet since I had to tap the link 7 times before I got past the "availability-error"
No arc squadron in UK. Boo
I have been out of the loop for the last month anyone have any suggestions on games released within this last month.
... It's like someone bought one of those shirts from Idiocracy full of logos and slapped a Halo 4 screenshot on top.
I don't get why people should beware of a game because it's developed by a Brazilian studio and might have some localization problems. I'm sure the English is perfectly readable, and probably even more so than most of the Korean games that flood the iOS store and seem to be translated with Google Translate. I wouldn't mind to see this kind of criticism on a review, but on a Coming Tonight heads up it just detracts people from buying a potentially good game because of a minor issue.
You had me at Halo...you lost me at 711
Not enough time...
"mentlegen?"
