We posted about the release date a few days ago, but Blocky Farm [Free] was mysteriously absent from last night's new games roundup as we had yet to find it anywhere on the App Store. Well, following the old adage "Better late than never," Blocky Farm hit the App Store early this morning. We've already got a vibrant thread in our forums, and people seem to be enjoying the game quite a bit- Which I suppose isn't much of a surprise considering forum members helped beta test it.

It seems reasonable to assume that Blocky Farm is the closest thing we're going to get to Stardew Valley on the App Store. At least in my first session, it plays fairly similarly, but I'm working hard on getting farther in Blocky Farm to see whether or not it has the same endless pit of depth that Stardew has. Blocky Farm was in development forever, and it's pretty obvious how much love and care went into this game when you play it.

Definitely grab this one if you're looking to have your farming game itch scratched to a ridiculous extent.

Woah! Thank you again for mentioning us! 🙂 Hope you will love the game more and more with every single session!

Seems real awesome, just haven't had time yet! My favorite part of Stardew Valley is managing all my crops, and this game is doing a great job tickling that same urge.

This is more like a Hayday kind of game.. Stardew Valley have little stories around it, seasonal changes ( which I can't seem to see in this game ), marriage, local community and etc..

But please I am open to be criticize because the only similarity I saw with this and Stardew Valley is the bare farm mechanic..

      The dev here.

Our main goal was to mix HayDay and Stardew Valley feeling, but not every mechanics from Stardew Valley are possible to port on mobile. Blocky Farm shows more and more of its greatness with every single session. Our closest plans for updates are to add fishing mode and farmers diary what should give even better feeling.

Hope you will give Blocky Farm a longer try and enjoy your play.

Yup definitely agree with this so far, having played a lot of Hay Day but only a few hours of Stardew Valley it definitely seem more like the former - I'm a big fan of Hay Day, but I do think that TA saying it's a Stardew Valley-like game isn't fully accurate.

Well done guys 👏 Your game looks amazing!

  • nicodemus82

Stardew Valley? Really? I honestly don't see the comparison except for that fact they're both farm themed games. This is definitely more like FarmVille, HayDay etc..

As someone who's a passionate follower of Stardew valley up until release i'm also disappointed. I don't like the name dropping because this is just a f2p farming game I don't care for. Stardew valley is an incredible game where 1 guy made all the art, programming and sound alone without resorting to selling it from early access or microtransactions. Now that's incredible.

I’m sorry to say. This is a pure reskin Hay Day.

"Stardew Valley-like" is a) not a thing (just like tickling an urge is not a thing) b) an insult to Stardew Valley and c) ignores Harvest Moon and the many other farming simulators on the App Store that you write about.

Good luck guys! We all love the game. Congratulations once again! 🙂 Monika from Eipix's Farm On! game
