DotEmu has made quite the name for themselves over the last few years on iOS. They’ve given us some fantastic retro ports like Neo Turf Masters ($2.99) and even some newer PC games like Titan Quest ($7.99). The 32-bit Appocalypse is nearing and while many developers have started updating their titles or even announcing plans for not updating, we finally have some clarity from DotEmu. My favourite releases from them are the Ys Chronicles 1 ($4.99), its sequel Ys Chronicles 2 ($4.99), and Another World – 20th Anniversary ($3.99). Another World has not been updated yet, and neither has Karateka Classic ($0.99), but we now know that they will update their complete catalogue for iOS 11.
Yes, every of our games will be upgraded soon for the new IOS 🙂

It is great to see another developer jump on board and work at both having their games playable for new customers with new devices, and older customers who still play said games. In a lot of cases the studio(s) that ported older games or even developers shut shop and with no means of updating games, and so iOS 11 users will never be able to experience some classics. The tweet from them also states that the games will be updated for iOS 11 firmware support soon. This is a lot better than some studios who are “exploring the possibility" of or “looking into" updates. I look forward to replaying Another World once it is updated but mostly I’m just hoping DotEmu is secretly working on Ys: The Oath in Felghana for iOS.
