Making the Visuals of ‘Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf’

TouchArcade Rating:

If you’re a Warhammer 40,000 fan, this story is definitely for you. Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf (Free) is a turn-based strategy game with a CCG component first-released on iOS in 2014, and while it had its issues—especially with regards to monetization—it looked pretty cool. A recent developer diary focused solely on the game’s visuals, and it’s definitely worth a read, especially if you’re a fan of the whole universe. As an example of the depth of knowledge needed to design these characters, the developers go over every little piece of the Terminator Armor, describing its purpose but also what each of the symbols and colors mean within the context of the 40K universe.

The diary then describes how the developers went about developing the in-game models using all that reference material and how the process from start to finish looks like. Definitely a fun read if you’re into video game visuals or Warhammer 40,000. You can read the whole article here.
