Quite a few people were looking forward to the release of Epic of Kings [$4.99] this week, but Wednesday came and went and there was no sign of the game. It was quickly revealed that they got caught up in Apple's approval process, but the developers mentioned that the game would be available as soon as possible. Well, it just popped up on the App Store moments ago, so if you've been waiting for the game, get ready to spend five bucks.

Epic of Kings has been in development forever, and aside from being a premium game, it's also noteworthy by being one of the few games on the App Store that utilizes Unreal Engine 4. If you've got recent iOS hardware, and you want to stretch its legs, this seems like a pretty good opportunity. It just launched, so if you want to keep an eye on first impressions before hopping in, keep an eye on the thread in our forums.

Thanks, Andrew!

Maybe because the game looks boring as hell. Nice graphics but game play seems limited to quick time events and in rails "action"

It's more on-rails than Infinity Blade. The environments are nothing but eye candy. You can't even look around or tap on anything but the glowing particles to get to the next enemy/chest.

Thanks for the hint to check out the forum thread first. Sorry to say I will have to pass after reading those first impressions...

Man I was hopping for something like spiral

Sigh... Spiral... Will we ever see its sequels? Still one of the best iOS games to date..

Yeah, any word on that? I assume it didn't sell well enough to continue...
