TouchArcade Deals: ZeroLemon SolarJuice 20000mAh Battery That Can Charge Itself

(And flight attendants who couldn’t be more apathetic.) Anyway, today’s (Or, yesterday’s, I guess) TouchArcade deal is the ZeroLemon SolarJuice 20000mAh Battery which is just totally up my alley on a personal level, as anything solar really appeals to me. So the way this battery pack works is like any other battery pack in that you can charge it via micro USB then recharge anything that uses USB utilizing the two onboard USB ports. It can deliver 2.1A for tablet charging, and with 20,000 mAh of onboard juice, you could conceivably use this battery to charge your phone for an entire week. Or, maybe longer, if you’re somewhere sunny.

So, see the solar cells on the top of the battery? All you’ve got to do is leave this bad boy out in the sun and it’ll charge itself. Now, being totally realistic here, it’s going to take days for you to charge it from empty to full using solar energy, but it’s neat that you could do that if you wanted to. I think a more realistic use case scenario is charging the battery properly via a wall outlet, then using the solar cells to keep the battery topped off. Either way, it seems like a cool idea that tickles the kind of silly things I look for in gadgets in a big way.

The ZeroLemon SolarJuice 20000mAh Battery is available via TouchArcade Deals for $49.99, which usually retails for $99.99.
