Telltale Releases a Bunch of New ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ Screens

With PAX officially kicking off today, Telltale has sent over some new screens and details from their upcoming adventure Minecraft: Story Mode. Seeing as Minecraft is a massive open-ended game where you can pretty much do whatever you want, Telltale is embracing that theme with Story Mode and for the first time in one of their adventure games you’ll be able to create and customize your own main character. The main character will always be named Jesse, which makes sense seeing as the game will have a star-studded cast doing voice work and it would be impossible to have them all record every name imaginable, but you will get to choose between male and female characters and a variety of appearance options. Below is a new screen from the game followed by several different versions of “Jesse" that are possible.

As for the star-studded cast I mentioned earlier, that will include Patton Oswalt as male Jesse, Catherine Taber as female Jesse, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, and Paul Reubens aka Pee-wee Herman! I’m very intrigued to see how Minecraft: Story Mode shapes up, as it’s a really interesting idea to turn what’s essentially a sandbox game into something more structured and story-driven. The game will be shown on the PAX floor this weekend, and the first season will launch on basically every platform imaginable sometime this fall.
