Konami Demonstrates New Commitment To Mobile By Pulling Most Of Their Games From The App Store

2000px-Konami.svg_It’s just about time for the official release of a new version of iOS, and long-time mobile fans know what that means: a bunch of games are going to stop working. While most developers and publishers are pretty good about updating their big releases, it’s inevitable for swaths of games to get pulled after an iOS update causes them to stop working, never to be seen again. If we’re lucky, the publishers let us know ahead of time what’s going to get pulled, so that we can make our peace with the fact that they’re still in our backlogged piles, waiting to be played. Well, the first big pull announcement is here, and it belongs to none other than Konami, who made (and apologized for) statements recently about putting greater support behind mobile.

Here’s the list of everything Konami has announced they will be pulling soon:

  • Dance Dance Revolution S
  • Dance Dance Revolution S+
  • Field Prowlers Police Rush!
  • Frogger Pad
  • Metal Gear Solid Touch
  • Silent Hill: The Escape
  • Silent Scope
  • Happy Face Popper
  • Elemental Monster TD
  • Crayon Physics Deluxe
  • Charlene’s Beachside Solitaire
  • Table Game Selection
  • Knights Of The Phantom Castle
  • Tomena Scanner Touch
  • NeoSameGame
  • Hyper Sports Winter
  • Hyper Sports (Track And Field)
  • Bomberman Touch
  • Bomberman Chains
  • Bomberman Dojo
  • Love Plus iM
  • Love Plus iN
  • Love Plus iR
  • Hanafuda-kyo
  • 100 Ghost Stories
  • Grappling Action: Moon Dancer
  • World RPS
  • Chikuwa Ninja
  • Mahjong Police
  • Haunted Pics
  • Shot Watch

Well, that’s… that’s just about everything, isn’t it? To be honest, a lot of those games won’t be missed by many, but there are a few notables on there like Metal Gear Solid Touch ($0.99) and the last vestiges of poor old Bomberman. But don’t worry, Star Wars: Force Collection (Free) is safe! Let’s just hope this deck-clearing is in anticipation of some interesting new releases. Hope is a wonderful thing.
