Rovio Releases Gameplay Teaser for ‘Angry Birds Stella’ Ahead of September 4th Launch

Back in February we learned that Rovio had a new Angry Birds game in the works called Angry Birds Stella that featured an entirely brand new and mostly female cast of birds. Rovio stated Angry Birds Stella was “all about inspiration, empowerment and other real issues, without forgetting entertainment and quirky fun." It sounded really cool, but for months there was no real indication on just what kind of game Angry Birds Stella would be. Until today, as Rovio has posted a new gameplay teaser for the game.

As you can see, Stella very much looks like an Angry Birds game, with the bird-flinging and the pig-killing and whatnot. But man, the art and animation look incredible, almost like you’re playing a high-quality cartoon. That makes sense too, as Angry Birds has spawned a number of animated series and more are planned for Stella specifically. In fact, just last week Rovio announced that Angry Birds Stella would launch on September 4th and they’ve been regularly releasing cinematic videos for the game on their channel for about the past month that all look like they could be something produced by Disney.

Chances are you may be Angry Birds‘d out with the onslaught of games and products that have come from the series’ explosion in popularity over the years, but I for one am very excited for Angry Birds Stella, so be on the lookout for it to hit next week on September 4th.
