silver-apple-logoIt's Tuesday afternoon again, and once again, the Apple cumulative weekly top games charts have wound up in my inbox. Trials Frontier is a good game ruined by its contemptible freemium design. Thanks, Ubisoft!

    • Mess

Not actually found it too bad. But then I don't want to play it for hours on end!

  • Love!

A dark room.. oh I Loved it!

  • Xexist

Im a little surprised a Dark room made the list, but NOT because it didnt deserve it. I loved it!

    • witedahlia

I know, right? I've been keeping my eye on it in its number one spot. I'm pleasantly surprised, to say the least! There is still hope for the App Store!

      • Kiltedsheep

Somehow A Dark Room had passed me by, so on the strength of you guys recommending it, I downloaded it this evening. 4 hours later, I've skipped dinner and am still playing it. It's brilliant. Screw Flappy Bird and its mutant offspring

      • Dantp

But why do the vast majority of it's reviews look like they were written by the same person? The general jist is "I don't ever write reviews, thank you developers! I'd love a sequel."

Call me cynical but I've never seen so many reviews in a row written in the same high standard of English! Haha

Also, a strange amount of them seem to feel the need to address the one star reviews.

      • Dantp

Just to add, yep - definitely a shed load of absolutely shameless fake reviews. Just had another look through and it's blatant.

Shame, even if the game is
good, shady behaviour like that has put me off.

    • LousyHero

Completely blown away. I downloaded it when it first released and loved every minute of it. Never saw it becoming the #1 paid app, but im glad it did. Apparently even the dev doesnt know the reason for its meteoric rise to the top, i sure am curious though.

    • runliketurtles

That surprised me too. What happened to suddenly propel Dark Room to the top? Cool to see.

  • Alexythimia23

Woah, what is this Dark Room?? That come out of nowhere unless i missed a review?? Has got awesome ratings and comments left...gonna have to try it out as been looking for a lil gem

  • Zerol3onheart

Smash Hit needs more publicity. It's such a cool game that I would not have tried if it wasn't for TA. Sad it's not higher on the charts.

    • falco

Smash it has been on top for a while...

    • bitbit

Smash Hit has over 15 million players on Game Center. That's almost halfway toward as many as Flappy Bird accumulated before it got pulled. It's also been around #30-100 Top Grossing since it's come out. Hard to argue that it's not a huge success (I agree that it's a very cool little game).
