‘Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft’ for iPad Soft-Launches in New Zealand, Australia and Canada

You may want to kiss your social life goodbye as Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Blizzard’s highly successful trading card game, has been soft-launched for the iPad in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. Based on Warcraft’s lore, it may look like a re-skin of Magic the Gathering but beneath the surface is a different beast. Sure you’ll open packs, assemble the best deck you can build and beat your opponents with it, but it does away with terrains. Thus, it’s a simpler and more approachable game that is also incredibly fun. Millions of players have already spent countless hours on the recently released desktop version, and the game’s look and feel is a natural fit for iOS. We loved the iPad version when we previewed it late last year. You’ll be able to play it for free and you’ll also have the option to connect to your Battle.net account thus getting the cards and progression synchronized with the PC/Mac version.

You shouldn’t have to wait too long for the worldwide release and Android and iPhone users will be able to get in on the fun during the second half of this year. If you want to share your excitement and get some early impressions on the game don’t forget to swing by the thread in our forums.
