While every other developer out there seems to be avoiding this Wednesday like the plague thanks to the release of Infinity Blade III [$6.99], Gaming Corps is taking the honey badger approach and releasing Riddick: The Merc Files today anyway.

Check out the trailer:

Normally I'd say the normal movie game caveat likely applies here, but Riddick games historically have actually been pretty good. We'll have to wait until 11:00 PM Eastern tonight for this game to hit the US App Store to see whether or not The Merc Files can continue the Riddick legacy.

Oh man, I love the Riddick universe and this looks to be a stealth action game in the same vain of Metal Gear Solid! Hope the controls work well, can't wait to try it out.

ANYTHING that isn't an arcade/RTS/graphic adventure game
not in first-person perspective is a FAIL.
    Get it?
    Got it?

This game actually looks pretty good. I'll definetly try it out. Hope it's "touch to go" and not virtual sticks...

I'm buying this! But can't seem to finalize my purchase 🙁
Keeps on telling me can't connect to App Store... And I just bought Organ Trail like 20 minutes before this... Why!? I wanna play this so bad! Infinity Blade is gonna have to wait...

In no universe are those 2 came better then IB. This is my opinion of course but yikes.

  • Eseres

This looks just super awesome! Im curious about IB 3, but i think i'll put it on hold for a little while and get this one instead. I just hope the file size isn't too high, because i really don't want to remove any of the games im currantly playing (and that has turned out to be quite a few).

"Honey badger approach" Haha! This looks promising, if it doesn't fall into the freemium pithole.

  • LousyHero

Wow actually excited about this one. Seeing how Vin Deisel is a gamer, lets hope he did some quality control on this. I know i loved the Riddick game on xbox.

  • zerilos

Would be great with a controller.

Pretty much anything is better than rts, fps, etc. as stated earlier. And pretty much anything with virtual sticks, especially dual stick, is better than anything on rails including infinity blade. Since we are sharing opinions and all.
