It's a little hard to get excited for a DeNA free to play game, but, my love for all things Dungeons & Dragons has me overlooking that... for now. As mentioned in a previous post, this game ties in to "The Sundering" event where players will have an impact on the future of D&D. Check out the trailer:

If you like what you see, you can pre-register with your email address and get access to "a free Ultra Rare Power CAUSE FEAR" along with notification the second the game launches. That's neat, right? Anyway, there's no launch date for the game aside from "soon," however, typically "soon" following these sorts of marketing pushes means as early as this week or next.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Just did it! Can't wait for this game!

  • Scot D

That made me entirely too giddy. OMG OMG OMGZ!!1

Calm yourself. It's gonna be a 'pay to win' IAP-fest based loosely on D&D.

      • Scot D

I guess the slight sarcasm wasn't laid thick enough. Although I would be lying if I said I wasn't hopeful it turned out to be decent.

      • http://rekzkarz.com/ REkzkaRZ

We're all hopeful it will not suck -- and by hopeful, I mean I bet a bunch of people here would drop $5 on a great game.
BUT ... how many great Mobage IAP games are there?
        Tsk tsk ... it's sad.
There are good ways to do IAP in games (Ravenloft, Wazhack, etc) and horrible ways to do it (paywalls, pay-to-win, 2-currency games, etc).

      • Scot D

Yeah, What the hell happened to the premium priced business model instead of this IAP ridden hell hole? I understand F2P is put in place to encourage downloads. However D&D especially should have plenty of would-be paying customers straight out of the gate.

I guess it all starts with the publisher, Mobage. Up with hope, Down with Dope!

  • Eseres

Will this be anything like Dungeon Hunter 4? If so, im taking it off my watchlist...

    • Scot D

It doesn't appear to be anything like DH. However after watching a game play video for Android I am far less excited.

I don't wanna bring down the hope for a solid D&D title but yeah.. If it's anything like the version I saw, it looks like a strange mix between pinball and angry birds to put it the worst way possible.

      • Eseres

Well, IF they want to mess up this game, they probably add IAP like in DH4. I kind of liked that game, but stopped playing it when i felt forced to start buying IAP stuff. So many great games have been ruined by IAP, so i hope this one won't be a victim to it...

  • Bool Zero

Looks like it is utilizing some elements of 4th Edition with the powers and everything being very position based! Love that this looks like a suped up turned based dungeon crawler, set in Forgotten Realms no less! This may be the first Mobage game I actually touch! D&D license means I have to sign up and play this on principle!

    • http://rekzkarz.com/ REkzkaRZ

Touch away -- just be prepared to pay pay pay.
Looks like a CCG of sorts, which means you'll have some mechanic which ... sucks.

  • spawn12345

How the hell can you be excited about a mobage f2p game?

Guys.. Just look at their other games.

God dammit can anyone buy a name nowdays?
Seems like any dev in the world takes a big name and slaps it onto their shitty games.

    • torosama

From people that are beta testing this game, it's said to have a huge pay wall before you finish the first chapter. I was excited when I signed up 4 months ago.... The more I find out the sadder I get.

  • Wizard_Mike

Sweet! Dungeons & Dra.. Oh wait... Mobage. Nevermind.

Although that trailer does look pretty cool.

    • Morgan01

Lol, my thoughts exactly. Mobage, arg, that tells you 2 things: social game and pay, pay, pay.

  • Poo

I like mobage games for a week or two.

  • ElPumo

    Looks fun. I signed up!

  • majiktrip

I just got the chills xD
Sadly I've never played d&d...was playing diablo at the time.. It seems to look like a final fantasy type game (another game I didn't get a chance to play much lol).. Hopefully I adapt quickly enough to compete (:

  • JCat_NY

Was excited until I saw the word "Arena". There goes exploration...

  • Nycteris

Considering DeNA games, I have been playing DOT for a long time & it didn't stay free for long, but it is still fun as long as I am careful... So cautiously.. Ok yeah.
    No.
    This will stink. ;)
