If the words Space Hulk make you feel all funny on the inside, you should probably give the below video a look. Board Game Geek sat down with creator Full Control at GDC in San Francisco last week and the studio gave them a pretty good look at the PC version of the turn-based strategy game. Luckily, they had a camera handy.

We've heard that the PC and iPad versions of the game will launch alongside each other, so it seems pretty reasonable to assume that the two won't have many differences outside of the iPad version's touch interface and (presumably) toned down graphics.

We're not really sure if it's possible to want this game anymore than we do. Space Hulk is due out later in 2013, but it'd be great if Full Control finished it, like, yesterday.

looks very cardboard-y, was hoping for something with a bit more action in it. guess this is for the old school rts fans, which is fine, not everything is made for everyone. do like the fire animations though.

Well, um, it's based on a board game which is very, very cardboard-y. You could even say it's an entire box of cardboard.

I understand its origins, just didn't realize this was meant to be a digital translation of the origins. Was hoping for something a bit more X-Com than chess I guess.

For me it's looking good. Exactly the sort of look I was hoping for. I want the BG on the comp/iPad not an action game.

For me it's looking good. Exactly the sort of look I was hoping for, aka a translation of the board game to the computer / iPad. Not an action game!

... in any case, I think they'll be filtering out a lot of the market with their direction, but in doing so, probably also appealing to a crowd that will be very happy to support them with expansion pack purchases. probably a good place to be for a small shop.

Interesting that they were demoing it on a Mac. Do we know if they were running it native OS X or in Bootcamp?

    • Thomas Lund

I demo'ed the game on my native OSX Mac

    will be freemium....im sure.

    • Inksplat

I will bet you a sealed copy of the newest edition of the boardgame that it won't be freemium.

      • iValerio90

        I hope so much!!

      • Thomas Lund

Trust me - its not freemium :-) And I should know

Am I the only one who can't stand the Blood Ravens? The original space hulk(s) featured the death wing and the blood angels, which made the game more compelling IMO. I mean the Blood Angels were ok in the dawn of war games, but I'd like to see some characters from the table top games. Not necessarily in Space Hulk, but I thought a commander Dante would've been awesome in dawn of war. Oh btw - waay off topic ;p

I would like to see Black Templars but more than that I want to game NOW!
