The Room [Free / $0.99 (HD)] was one of our favorite games of last year. As we mention in our review, its ultra-immersive atmosphere combined with some really clever mystery box puzzle mechanics made for an experience that you basically just played from beginning to end because you wanted to see what was coming next. Sadly, the game's one major flaws is that it just sort of ends, almost in a NES style "GREAT JOB! THE END." kind of way along with a nebulous promise of more content coming soon.

Well, per the guys at PocketGamer, The Room is not only getting a sequel, but also an update to the original that will bridge the gap between the two games. This update is scheduled to land in "early summer," with the sequel hitting this fall. Also, if you or someone you know has an Android device and has missed out on this fabulous game, it's making to jump to that platform too.

YAY! I can't express how sad I was when The Room ended. First iOS game I ever finished in one sitting. Brilliant experience. I can't wait for some more. Thanks!

I played it properly for the first time last night. Very good, but I am nervous that its going to end any minute. More content is definitely good news.

Yay! Opening the box has revealed another box - so it's not quite as short as I feared it might be.

Unless you're cheating, it will probably take you a few days. No spoilers but there is more than one box.

I've finished it now. It was probably two, maybe two and a half hours total play - but by that point it was getting a bit repetitive so it's probably a good thing it's short.

Fantastic news! The first game was brilliant, and I can't wait to see what they're going to do next.

Good game. Last line was, "There are rooms everywhere!" So I was anticipating sequels. But autumn seems like a long wait. Oh well.
