If you're into zombies, ogres, ogre-zombies, what appears to be Lickers, and big stabby weapons made for killing such things, Wild Blood should be on your radar. In a new bit of teaser footage, publisher Gameloft debuts Wild Blood's dark fantasy world and gives you a decent look at its monsters, which you'll presumably need to kill as the broody guy with the monstrous sword that pops up at the end of the video.

Wild Blood is one of several Unreal Engine 3 games slated to come from Gameloft in the near future.  Wild Blood specifically is slated to hit iPhone, iPad, and Android "soon." We'll keep you updated as more details emerge.

[Thanks, James!]

Looks good. Now for a video showing actual gameplay.

    • nam009

Coz it's called a teaser trailer for some reason I guess ?

  • http://twitter.com/JohannAffendy Joharn Orkslayer

Big ogre near the end, I've seen a similar creature design in Infinity Blade. Oh Gameloft *sigh*

  • xDyNaMiiCx

    Looks good

    • Noam Rathaus

How can you say it looks good where all you saw is a CGI rendered Trailer showing no actual game play? the game could have turn-by-turn gameplay and show a trailer as they show 🙂

      • Faeryan

You say like turn-by-turn is a bad thing. 🙂

I would actually be surprised to see Gameloft whipping up something original for a change.
Just hoping this one has free exploration instead of that fixed path thing we keep seeing in games right now.

      • Noam Rathaus

I like turn-by-turn games, but what I don't like is trailers that show a nice movie, then you open up the game hoping for X and you get minor-x 🙂 at best, or worse a zzzz (as in snooze)

      • Faeryan

This is still tolerable, but I get what you mean. It's not one or two times I've been fooled by AppStore descriptions and screenshots. Fortunately those games haven't been too expensive yet.

      • ohhyeah

Turn by turn games suck. I'd rather play cards lol

  • remmizero

So copying console games is no longer good enough? Now they have to copy other iOS games?

      which one?

    • Wikilix

That's what I've been thinking ever since they released the picture.

  • ImJPaul

Looks pretty cool. If its an infinity blade clone I'll wait till its on sale. If its an original title then I'm allllllll over it. Would also really like to see some actual gameplay footage.

Working at gameloft must feel alot like playing in a cover band

    • Himmat Singh

       Hah. Epic!

      • UnleashthePower

        Epic- ha

Was that the gameloft version of the previous comment?

      • ImJPaul

That's awesome. Lol kind sir, L-O-L.

  • GSJ1977

I wonder what to expect from GL this time? How about a game with no soul, bad controls, and bugs that never ever get fixed. Kinda like, oh, every GL game ever...

    • http://coderkid.co.cc/ Matt Curtis

Totally agree in the soul aspect. It's what bugs me about Gameloft titles.

  • KevinZOMG

Looks like Dark Souls! If it's anything like that I will actually consider buying, yes, BUYING it.

  • Adams Immersive

Someone should make a game where you somehow carry a sword the size of a surfboard.

    • Faeryan

Final Fantasy 7 got pretty close, eh? :p
Don't know if it's the size of the sword that did it but it's still among the best games I've played.

Reminds me of the old PS1 title Soul Blade (prequel to Soul Calibur series) where they had big weapons too but this one guy had a phantom saber that pretty much hit from one end of the battlefield to another. Now that was cool.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paddy-Grant-Sullivan/733511665 Paddy Grant Sullivan

Plus Dark Chronicle literally had a surfboard as its most powerful sword. It was tiny, but pretty big considering the characters were also tiny.

      • Goose

        Sup bro 🙂

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paddy-Grant-Sullivan/733511665 Paddy Grant Sullivan

        I totally didn't see this before 😛

      • ImJPaul

Clouds buster sword was literally bigger then he was. Not so much in the CGI animations but in gameplay his sword is wider and longer then him. It looked even more ridiculous on Zack, but that's probably just because Cloud's spikes add another foot or 2 to his height. The mysteries of skinny emo looking characters caring 300+ lb. swords.....

      • DrFu79

it's not the size, it's how you use it.

  • ducksFANjason

Yes we get it everyone.. Gameloft makes games that are strikingly similar to other games... It's hilarious. I'm not sure why everyone trashes them so much. Many times they're just bringing a console-like experience to iOS. Is it such a HORRIBLE thing to have the opportunity to play an Uncharted knockoff or a Red Dead knockoff on your phone?

Jesus, with the way people mock them, you'd think they were under contractual obligation to purchase all gameloft software. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

On a side note, I'm anxious to see more of this!

    • GSJ1977

Personally I'm not so bothered by the fact that they imitate (though it IS fun to make fun of them for it) so much as the way that they do it: without any passion, pride or inspiration of any kind, and with just enough work on each title to call it functional. And let's not even talk about their post-launch support.

      • ducksFANjason

Fair enough. Devs that don't even acknowledge bugs deserve low ratings and reviews. My only concern with that is that in my experience with Gameloft, I haven't encountered any issues with bugs. But if you've had bad experiences then by all means you have every right to be angry with them.

As for uninspired gameplay, as an aspiring (and failing quite miserably might I add lol) game creator it can be very difficult to come up with ways to make your game truly unique and engaging. Sometimes it just doesn't flesh out like you imagined it in your head. Also, many times your brilliant idea, once executed, ends up feeling a lot like another game. Sort of like that episode of South Park where they kept yelling "Simpsons did it!" You start with something unique but the result ends up falling victim to classic video game conventions. It's hard to qualify exactly what it is that makes those amazing games so special.

      • GSJ1977

I get you, but as I said I see nothing wrong with imitation, at least when it is iterative and/or has its own "personality". But I think what irks some gamers about GL, specifically wrt their imitation, is their complete lack of imagination. They don't even try to put their own spin on whatver it is they are imitating. And they certainly don't start off with an original idea and then accidentally end up with a clone!

Good luck with your games btw.

  • SuperMario7

This looks pretty cool...if it's a free roaming hack n slash type of game.  I'd definitely buy it if it's a Diablo clone.  If it's an Infinity Blade clone, then no thanks, I'm not a huge fan of Infinity Blade, in fact it was pretty boring, you either grind endlessly for cash or pay real money for in game currency, it felt like a really pretty freemium game that I had to pay £5.00 for.

I don't generally like Gameloft games, however the games I did enjoy the most were the Hero of Sparta games and Castle of Magic (anyone remember how good that was?), everything else has been pretty meh since then, don't really care for Nova or those Modern Combat games too much

  • mistygio914

i dont like Gameloft. Their games are always laggy as hell and never really addicting.

They've got less legs to stand on than Samsung do with Apple over this

  • danijel korov

Cant wait 😀 I think its gona be in soul of darknes universe, judgeing by their facebook site, and sword picture unvealing. The sword looks simular(upgraded) to those from soul of darknes, dont you think?

and opinion on gameloft is that they are of the best mobile games publishers!!!

  • UnleashthePower

Been buying gameloft games for a while and know the formulas they use and what to expect. This will most likely have simaler gameplay mechanics as their other third person games like Hero of Sparta. (most likely)

The good thing is though that if the deal between GL and Epic still stands then THREE MORE UE3 GAMES FROM GL. (assuming the cancelled MoH didn't count)

  • fastbridge

Not for nothing but some of the best games I've played we're from Gameloft and I hope they keep on copying great games. I'm pumped for this.

  • Chirag Kamat

will this be compatible foe ipod touch 4g

  • jpxdude

The problem with Gameloft games has been their own engine.  By switching the UE3, I reckon we could be looking at some better quality, and much less buggy games.

    • ElPumo

I hope you are right. This looks promising to me!

  • john360

    Game+IAP=gameloft-game+lame= lameloft
    Problem solved

  • NeonVoidJP

Personally the only problem I have with gameloft games is the lack of gamecenter support, does anybody know why this is and if it's ever going to be implemented into their titles??

  • ohhyeah

Not getting this game. Gameloft has such a bad rep for making new games and never paying attention to them again.

  • ElPumo

Looks great! Added to my watch list. Interested to see gameplay now!

  • HelperMonkey

This will be a 2+ GB download.

  • jclard56

How much is it going to cost to play this game
