I wish I had any details on this. Any details at all. But, instead, all I have is the following image which Firemint sent us mere moments ago announcing Real Racing 2:

We loved the original Real Racing in our review, and really, it's hard to imagine what they could even be including in its sequel. My personal list of things I hope to see include a more fleshed our career mode, car customization similar to Gran Turismo, and even more tracks. More details are coming "soon" from Firemint. How soon is anyone's guess, but my money is on Real Racing 2 being a holiday release.

We'll have to wait and see!

NO actually they will have real cars in it-
        instant buy.

      • Dunkann95

Lol, yes chance. All the cars will be licensed

  • Billy_0527

Doggone it, Firemint. Release the details, already! =D

  • Qwer

    +1 for licensing

  • LBG

Well that's a surprise. For some reason, I wasn't expecting there to be a sequel.

  • No

I love Real Racing and still play it but I wish Firemint would bring out something new, kinda sad to hear that they're still doing the same old stuff.
    That said if RR2 includes a rally/offroad section I might think differently : )

Got RR HD as my first game for ipad. I hardly played it, nice graphics but the touch controls are just horrible for a racing game. I really dislike brake assist but it is impossible to play without it. I will consider it for my ipod tho.

Have you tried accelerometer controls for turning and touch for accelerate/brake? It works great for me.

Also, I suggest to just turn off brake assist completely. It may be hard at first, but you will get used to quickly.

This exactly. Accelerometer + touch gas and brake, 0% brake assist. If you think its not playable, you haven't played it much.

Hodapp, I got my fingers crossed with you on the wishlist. RR2 will be Instant purchase for me. RR1 has really stood the test of time in the Appstore to this very date. One of the few games that hasn't been removed from my iDevice since it's release either. I hope to see more overall diversity, customization, and content in RR2. This is great news!!!

Yes!!! The first one is over a year old and it's still the best racing game on iOS, so I'm expecting big things from this one!

Sounds cool! Unfortunately i echo another commenter... Firemint has been working on the same two games for about two years now... I want something completely different!

Awesome! I've played GT Racing more, despite preferring Real Racing's handling, because of the career mode. Here's hoping Real Racing is expanded in that area.

  • Capone

I'm expecting nothing less than being able to steer my Subaru with Real Racing 2. Anything else would be a shame. ;-)

I Hope it uses Open GL 2.0 Graphics for 3GS and Iphone 4 only

Give me licensed cars (a lot of them), a fat career mode, and a points/progression system like Shift. I have money.

You can download RR2 here? Maybe it's only for jailbroken iphones?
