You saw it demoed at WWDC, you've played it on Facebook... Zynga's FarmVille is now available on the App Store worldwide.

Plow, plant and harvest on the go 24/7! FarmVille, the most popular game on the web, is now available on your iPhone. Current FarmVille players can access their existing Facebook farm, and new users can create a farm.

A Facebook account is still required for gameplay, but they do offer access to existing farms. They promise some exclusive iPhone/iPod items as well. Farmville is a free download.

Funny this .. Way back, when a couple of friends of mine were seriously considering the iPhone, one of the main things they were wondering was: would it play Farmville? Long story short, they got the phone anyway.

And now that Farmville's out? They've long since tired of the game.

Way to strike when the iron has cooled, rusted, been forgotten, and lost somewhere at the back of the shed.

No thanks, don't really see the fun in planting Vedgebals 24/7. Guess this is a game for none gamers. That's why it's so popular cause all people who don't play video/computer games play this.

A sad day for the iPhone.

Today will be remembered as the day the App Store died.

TA gains 10 points for journalistic activitiy
and loses 1.000.000 points of coolness.

  • Thaurin

Why do people hate this, but love Godfinger, Touchpets, etc.?

    • dyscode

Why? I ALSO HATE Godfinger AND Touch Pets!

So I am qualified to rant now?

  • Yo bro!

Why do people love this all your doing is planting crap, just go outside and do it really.

  • Jesus Christ

    +1 to Thaurin

My son you are wise, but even God cannot answer this question. Humanity is plagued by many thing including farmville.

    Peace be with you all

    Life's too short for Farmville.

    zzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

I don't understand why people get so angry over a game they aren't interested in. There are hundreds and hundreds of games on the app store (even taking away the obvious crap), statistically nobody is going to love everyone of them. Big deal. Move on to something you do enjoy, focus your energy on something positive rather than adding fuel to negativity (cuz that's what the world needs more of). We're looking to own a device that offers a huge amount of choice. Be happy about that folks, stop trying to censor yourselves.

And you wonder why Harvest Moon on consoles did so poorly, but this is crazy popular.

I hate HM but it's done really well on handhelds.

This is far too slow compared to We Rule for example (which is FAR better from what I have played of both).
Plus, you can only gift to other "neighbours" if they have the iPhone version too, and you can only visit neighbours' farms, not actually do anything when you get there- what the heck is the point in that???
Silly, boring, pointless, out of date.
