We will post more information on Madden 10 as it becomes available.

Update @ 12:53PM CST (Thanks, TGR):

EA posted what appears to be the iTunes description on their Facebook page. Looks like they're going to have all 32 licensed teams with "life-like" players and real stadiums. Also included is the exclusive ability to draw your own plays using the touch interface, adjust the speed of the game, assemble your own teams, and even play in season mode with in-depth trades and other goodies. All of this wrapped up with the real voice commentary of John Madden, Tom Hammond, and Cris Collinsworth.

    WOW!!!! Looks great! ^_^

  • sf49lu says:

Agreed. Much better than nfl 2010

  • Vicente Ragal says:

    Sweeeet!

  • Streets says:

Looks much better than NFL 2010. but what's to expect, it's EA.

  • FallenAngel says:

    You got me confused…
The football game that's available in the AppStore right now isn't published by EA? Who's the publisher then?

  • Anonymous says:

The touchscreen really changes the dynamics for this game (in a good way, I believe). I just wonder how much it'll cost as that'll determine how many units it will sell.

  • Michael says:

it doesn't look much better than Gameloft's NFL 10 – the crowd & stadium looks terrible.

I don't think I'll bother with it. EA really dropped the ball on this one, delaying the release with no explanation.

    • hawks12thman says:

This is most likely NOT the final product. The point of these screenshots are likely to highlight the gameplay and not the surroundings. But we'll see, and besides, I think the stadium is on par with NFL 2010, it even has the scoreboard!

    • sf49lu says:

Take a look at nfl 2010 distance lines. The line distance fades out and becomes fuzzier the farther the distance increases. The goal post also begins to disappear. In Madden, this doesn't happen.

      • spiffyone says:

Then again, Madden doesn't seem to have as detailed stadiums, crowds, or grass as NFL 2010. So there may be a trade off for that draw distance.

  • hawks12thman says:

Wow, graphics-wise, this blows NFL 2010 out of the water. Hopefully Madden's gameplay will be just as good as these screenshots.

@FallenAngel – NFL 2010 is developed by Gameloft.

  • brownzfreak says:

It does indeed look comparable to NFL 2010 by Gameloft. I'm hoping that the gameplay of EA's will be better but you can't tell much by the screen shots shown above. It looks like you can change which side you want to run the play which is cool, an issue I had with Gameloft. I'm concerned about the controls though. I'm not wild about the virtual pad but what other options is there? I also hope that when in season mode that all the stats are kept, not just the team you're playing (another issue with Gameloft). I'm excited to see what EA's version will look like but I just have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed. We'll soon find out.

  • Shane says:

Funny they chose to release shots with Vick and Favre

  • TGR says:

Eli, you totally missed the fact sheet. EA mobile just tweeted a link to it.

  • Dark NRG says:

OMG. To think, I was excited as a kid with Mattel football with led lights.
    Now THIS. What a day!

  • Dark NRG says:

    GO STEELERS!!!!!

  • spiffyone says:

WTF @ people saying this looks "much better" than NFL 2010?

I mean, honestly…it looks about the same. Maybe not even as good overall. From what I see in the screens above the character models are a tad bit better in terms of textures and slightly rounder models but the stadium grass, and the crowds, look quite a bit worse.

Do the folks saying it looks better work for EA or something?

I wouldn't put it past EA, tbqh.

    • Stickyd says:

This looks much better than Gamelofts version. There's only one stadium in Gamelofts NFL 2010. Having real stadiums and smoother graphics will help EA out a ton……..that is if the gameplay is worth a sh*t. I think the finished product will be. I'm sure they are still tweaking the game in preparation of it's release. I can't wait for it!

      • Sticktron says:

You just made his point, lol.
Fail 1: What does stadium count have to do with how they look?
Fail 2: how do you know how "smooth" it will be without seeing it inmotion?

        Fanboism FTL.

  • A.A. Fussy says:

Looking forward to Madden 2010 being released in Australia-especially as we missed out on the Gameloft NFL game.

  • Nausicaa says:

I think it looks good. The draw-your-own-play feature could be really cool. The only thing I wish these developers would consider is the small screen size. I don't think the over-the-shoulder passing camera will work as well as it does on the console versions. The players are too small and blend together on the horizon. If the camera were placed higher in the air and tilted downwards toward the field, it would be much easier to locate the positions of your recievers.

  • Eric says:

Look at Vick! Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee! Cowboys can't touch him.

  • Will says:

    No multiplayer

  • zeb says:

Looks really promising. I'm looking for ward to this.

  • Muffer says:

As long as I can take Vick off my Eagle's team, i'm in

  • Piotr.pot says:

    Looks… hmm… good

  • David says:

I hate to admit it, but seeing Favre has me excited to play this game.

  • munkee says:

    I don't care about Madden 10, I want Fifa 10!

  • Cory Gillmore says:

I'm really excited about this one! I've been enjoying Gamelofts effort but you know this will be the iPhone football game to own. You'd have to be blind to not see that Madden looks a hell of a lot better than NFL 2010 judging by the screens. And to those questioning the virtual joystick, what else do you propose? Tilt controls? I don't think so. The option won't hurt but a virtual joystick is fine if done correctly. (I.E. NFL 10) I think I would like to see each receiver have a corresponding button on the bottom left of the screen for passing though. As I've seen in NFL 2010, it's easy to throw to the wrong receiver when they get bunched too close together. Can't wait till September! $300 PS3 and iPhone Madden! Will be getting both.

    • spiffyone says:

      lol

You'd have to be a blind fanboy or EA viral marketer to believe that the screens shown thus far of Madden for iPhone/touch show a graphically better game than NFL 2010. It does not look "a hell of a lot better" graphically. It looks comparable at best.

      • Cory Gillmore says:

You'd have to be an avid EA hater or a plain moron to not see that those screens look A HELL OF A LOT BETTER than NFL 2010. Pull your head out of your ass and take a look.

  • Zack says:

no online multiplayer? what is this crap. EA needs to start incorporating online multiplayer. Boycott EA until they do this!

  • crsrc says:

It looks to me like there will be a lot of frustration with pressing the wrong buttons, especially when running. Another EA fail no doubt. It’s a shame cause it looks like it could have been good. Likely no multiplayer too=fail

  • SecretlyDead says:

I have yet to play madden on the iPhone so I can't say it's better then NFL 2010. But judging by the screenshots I would have to say graphically it doesn't look that different. The crowds look better in NFL 2010. But I'm sure everyone will love madden becuase it's madden.

  • Doggpound says:

How funny it is to read guys only judging a game on screenshots… What kind of player are you ? Most of these comment drive me crazy…
At first sight we can say nothing exceopt that the gameplay should be almost the same, and grapgically speaking it depends on taste of everyone…
I guess that expertise of EA on US Football is bigger than the one from Gameloft, since they have years behind them, but for reminder EA had to pay exclusive right on console to be sure to be the top 1 in terms of quality (easier when we are the only one), overpassed by Take 2 with NFL 2K series… And you only swear for this company and its game??? Well done guys…
Just the fact to see Madden and few pics and you are peeing in your pants like little girls listening to the last Hanna Montana's Cd… Just make me smiling….

  • Lyanheart says:

Well at least we know what the delay was for- Vick to get picked up and Favre to make up his mind. And the graphics DO look sharper than NFL 2010.

  • cookiemonster says:

do people really care what the grass looks like in this?! they could be playing on asphalt for all i care as long as its playable.

  • veronica says:

    hhehehheheheh im famous

  • veronica says:

    hahah i am famous
