ZodTTD Brings Stylized Shooter 'Noiz2sa' to the App Store

Indie developer ZodTTD has brought an iPhone port of Kenta Cho's abstract shooter Noiz2sa [link] to the App Store.
Noiz2sa is a stylized, touch-controlled vertical shooter with simple objectives: avoid the bullets, kill the enemies, and pick up the released items to rack up points. The game features simplistic, geometric character graphics set atop a basic, scrolling 3D backdrop with a boss at the end of each stage.
Noiz2sa exists for a wide range of platforms and was previously ported to the iPhone as a jailbreak app by Lazrhog.
Those who want to try before they buy can download the free, Windows original.
See our brief gameplay video showing the first stage of the game.

that game looks pretty boring from the video you posted, nothing i'd play for more than 5 minutes and then delete, i assume
It kind of bothers me that Kenta Cho is not even mentioned in the description.
I agree fully
Hmmm… and I'd buy this over iFighter or Siberian Strike why exactly…?
Looks a lot like rRootage to me, did the same guy make both games?
Yes, Kenta Cho the one man dev team known as ABA Games made both rRootage (which has alternate modes based on other popular shmup games) and Noiz2sa. He allows anyone to port his games for free. The most famous being Blast Works for the Wii which is based of Kenta's game Tumiki Fighters.
rRootage was ported for free to the appstore by Lahzrog Games
… And indeed I was going to release a free full speed version in June for which I already had Kenta Cho's permission to do. As I said on the forums -never mind
I just have to say I think Lazrhogs original jailbroken port was the best thing since sliced bread. I was eagerly excited to have him bring it to the store, "without music" or sounds because I could care less! its all about the gameplay on this original port. When I got Zod's I was a bit dissapointed with the control scheme, the choice to use the original white colors instead of the black, and a few other things. I really hope lazrhog doesn't get discouraged and still ports his version over. I miss the black background. I miss the speed his had. I miss the smaller bullets he used. I basically miss his port. Lazrhog please port it for us!!! or add it to rrootage, or whatever you do!!!
I would like to add that a Mac OS X (even Universal Binaries) is available to download : http://homepage.mac.com/qtq/noiz2sa/index_e.html
Lazrhog > is it to late to release a free version on the App Store?
Lazrhog mentioned in the forum that the appstore doesn't allow two apps to share a name.
I made the suggestion to name it Noiz2sa! (the exclamation point will let it go though) or to add Noiz2sa to the fantastic (and free) rRootage port already in the appstore.
the response was "Ooh now there's an idea. I could just have a menu and you could play either rrootage or noiz2sa. Hmm I'll look into it
"
Cross your fingers
Nah.
hm i preferred the darker (inverted?) graphics of lazrhog's port; hopefully he still releases the version mentioned above
Thanks Lazrhog.
And Kenta Cho ofcourse
Hi everyone!
Lazrhog: if that's the case, it seems I got some mixed signals about the permissions / licensing of Kento Cho's work. I am going to get this sorted out immediately! If you could please contact me via email / twitter DM / etc, I'd really appreciate it. I didn't realize you were planning a port of this. Perhaps we can work something out. Do you have a direct way to communicate with Kento Cho?
For those interested in this title:
I would like to extend this port to include online high scores. I've been working very hard to maintain performance while allowing for full music and sound effect playback as well. It's very playable.
Thanks!
