Another game where the extent of the design is basic photoshop layer styles and the shape tool.

Outer glow is cool and all, but please don't overuse it.

WOW! Impressed. Looks nice. Day One. Hope it delivers. Already submitted…I love the world of iGaming

    • Dudehuge says:

Have you played GeoWars, Squid Yes! Not So Octopus!, and the other million games that share the same design? That's the aesthetic they're going for. You clearly have no clue on what you're talking about.

  • HardcoreEric says:

Exactly what I'm looking for, I hope it has decent sound effects the visuals are great. Too bad I'm a stickler for 99c games,

  • Alichan76 says:

Wow! The Geowars like games are coming thick and fast. This one looks really promising. And the video was very good. I could see somehow how the game play works which is nice; )

  • Reaganomics says:

A space shooter with a well thought out concept. I can't wait.

  • Lord Gek says:

Count me in! Looks good fun and I like how there is both a Campaign and a Survival Mode.

  • MooCow says:

Constant 30 fps eh? Is that with a first or second generation iPod touch?

(for those who still don't know, the fastest iPhone/iPod touch is the second generation iPod touch, the slowest is the first generation iPod touch).

Is there any chance that Apple's new software might tweak the speed of the older iPhone or iPod Touch for better performance? It'll never bring their speed up to the upcoming iPhone, though. This can't be helped since Apple is building faster mobile devices every year. Users will just have to limit their game choices to suit their particular model iPhone/iPod Touch. Apple will have to tell developers to rate the games speed for a particular model.

  • Lord Gek says:

Both surely to be left in the dust by the 3rd generation ones?

  • ujp says:

Sweet, Isotope got onto touchArcade! I'm one of the developers and just wanted to answer some of the questions.

Yannis Brown (http://www.groovyaudio.com/credits.htm) did our sound effects and they are terrific.

The 30 fps comment was based on testing on the first and second generation Iphone.

We will be putting out a iphone hardware gameplay only video at some point so you guys can judge for yourselves the sound quality and framerate.

    Thanks!

    Looks nice.

"40 different ships to purchase and level up."

Can I see the difference between the new ships?

    • ujp says:

Yep, the ships are visually different. There are different sprites for the different ships (not every ship has a unique sprite though), and different ships have different guns (laser, spread, reflect, knockback bullets, etc).

  • Alichan76 says:

It's only simple on the surface. A few strategic decisions to make when you dig a bit, which is the the pull for me.

  • groovy says:

Yes this game has a completely original soundtrack & professionally crafted sound design to give it a very distinctive sound along with it's distinctive look.

We're very excited for this game to hit the shelves, shoot'em ups are my personal favorite genre to make and play!

Some iphone titles we've helped provide audio for are: DropShip, Topple, Topple 2, Mazefinger, Star Defense, Dr Awesome, Pudge, Biggest Brain and a slew of other iphone titles.

I've released a video for those interested of how the music was composed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGfDhfKadMI
