Sapus Tongue "Hula Hoop" Game
posted by arn on November 11th, 2008 7:12 PM EST in $0.99, SimulationWe're generally suckers for an original concept, and Sapus Media's Sapus Tongue [App Store] fits the bill.
Described as "Hula Hoop for your wrists", the game takes advantage of the iPhone's accelerometer to spin your character as fast as possible before launching him into the sky. The goal of the game is to propel your character as far as possible with the right combination of twirling and angle.
Priced at only $0.99, the global high scores and novel gameplay make this an amusing distraction:

I am now Sapus Tongue fan #1, my wife with her own iPhone #2, but sadly we are not (yet) the top in the scoreboard
Practice makes master
I had REALLY been hoping this was a hula hoop game you play by twirling your tongue on the screen. Tongue-based games are a sadly-neglected genre of touch gaming.
It's "Nananka Crash" using an accelerometer… Only with music that gets stuck in my brain!
Oddly attractive, and no doubt addicting as hell…
.
Yes, very funny and addictive. My record is 8196.
Nice work guys.
Cool. One of the few games out there that could only exist on the iPhone or Wii.
This looks to me like a novelty game that should be free.
I don't think ANYBODY's hard work "should" be free. Charge what you like, and obviously the only people who will choose to pay it are those who accept the price
And 99 cents is really not a burden.
@stevej
program something like this, and give it away for free after paying a hundred bucks. have fun.
