They don't keep the horizon flat, but tilt the whole viewport when tilting the iPhone. I consider this as "broken by design". MotoRacer and Cro Mag Rally do this right.

So many menus/screens to click through but other than that it looks really nice. If the price is right, I will buy it. Good thing i'm asking for itunes gift cards for my birthday! (aug 29th if anyone wants to buy me some thanks…. lol jk)

wow, that's a lot nicer than the Palm version of GTS Racing i had on my Tapwave Zodiac! can't wait for this to come out.

I hope you can drift. I don't like racing games that don't have a good slide around corners mechanic.

Why would you make Formula 1 harder to control??? Thats totally opposite of the real world. Finely tuned machines that are easier to control, very light, and have tons of down-force. Oh well.

i'll most likely be buying this. one thing that bothers me is that you never see the side of the car when in a race. just one continuous view.

  • David says:

Yea I agree about the horizon problem. This game can't be steered like crash bandicoot (which also has no horizon compensation). In crash you can steer by pushing the phone forward and back, but in this game it would screw up the acceleration.

I'm still waiting for asphalt 4…

According to TUAW, it'll be $7.99

  • Please! Will someone just make a driving game with a touch steering wheel as well as tilt control!!

  • David says:

James thats what asphalt 4 is supposed to offer.

  • Looks good. Something that's not very noticeable in the video though: if you look at the in-game screenshots from Astraware's site, you'll notice that the cars aren't actual 3d models, but rather 2d animations, like Mario Kart 64, on top of 3d tracks.

    I like this game.
