The original word puzzler, Imangi [App Store], from Imangi Studios is gaining high praise amongst early adopters.

Some have described it as a addictive cross between Scrabble and the Rubik's Cube. The goal is simply to arrange the letters into as many words as possible, either horizontal or vertical. Letters can be aligned by moving rows and columns with a simple swipe of the finger. Boards are scored based on how many letters are used, with red letters counting extra.

While this is an accurate description of gameplay, it really is the gameplay video that makes you take notice:

Because I'm not an avid word puzzler, I can't give you the most qualified recommendation. That being said, I very much enjoyed this game and I certainly recognize what appears to be a very original and effective game.

The developer plans to improve the high score system to include online leaderboards in a future version. At present screenshots of high scores can be submitted manually.

Certainly, if you love Scrabble, Crossword puzzles or any word games, Imangi is worth serious consideration.

I'm not an avid word puzzle kind of guy, but I did play Bookworm Deluxe (Popcap) a lot. Watching the gameplay video, I can see myself enjoying this. Consider this one bought and put on my iPhone.

I am loving this game. I'm no match for the current leaders online (44k+) but it's quite fun. I have only had one word not register, goliath, but I'll chalk it up to it originally being a name

Also, double tapping any green tile will bring up a prompt asking if you are done. Tapping yes will tally the score and place it in your local high score list. You can then type in your name which is helpful if you let someone else play.

Turns out I was good enough!

I'm actually on the highscores page!

Haven't been able to break 30K yet, but this game is addictive as hell. A helpful hint I've found is using this in conjunction with the free app CheckWord to verify spelling and acceptability (Scrabblewise, at any rate) before going through the struggle to cram in that 8-letter word...

Just a helpful hint VeganTnT, it looks like the high score you submitted was a game completed on the beginner difficulty. Note that the more red letters (harder difficulties) the more bonus points you will receive. Best of luck.
