We’ve been following the big Minecraft ($6.99) Caves and Cliffs update ever since it was announced with new bits of information slowly revealed since. The update was eventually confirmed to be split into two parts with many of the blocks included in the update showcased in a detailed video that also showed off some accessibility features. After Mojang revealed the release date for Minecraft’s Caves and Cliffs Part I update recently, the update has started rolling out on all platforms as of a few hours ago. To go alongside the update, Mojang also showcased a new Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part I update trailer which you can watch below::
The highlights include the amphibious Axolotl spawning in underground water. The Axolotl attack fish, squid, drowned, and guardians. Killing a mob that the Axolotl was attacking will reward a player with regeneration with mining fatigue removed. The Goat also joins the game thanks to winning the MINECON Live 2019 mob vote. Goats spawn in extreme hills and can occasionally ram into other mobs and players. The glow squid is the winning mob of the Minecraft Live 2020 mob vote. Glow squids drop glow ink sacs when killed.
