This year has been great for fans of Civilization VI (Free) on iOS because Aspyr Media released the Rise and Fall expansion a while ago and then recently brought Gathering Storm to the game. My biggest hope for the game in 2020 on iOS is that it gets support for retina resolution natively. Right now, it isn’t great looking on modern iOS devices. Today, Aspyr Media announced a free DLC pack promotion for the holiday season. Watch the trailer for Gathering Storm below:
For players who own the full game unlock, a similar free DLC pack promotion will begin from tomorrow which is similar to the one from last year. The full schedule is below:
December 18th until 20th: Poland Civilization and Scenario Pack
December 20th until 22nd: Vikings Scenario
December 22nd until 24th: Australia Civilization and Scenario Pack
December 24th until 26th: Persia and Macedon Civilization and Scenario Pack
December 26th until 28th: Nubia Civilization and Scenario Pack
December 28th until January 1st: Khmer and Indonesia Civilization and Scenario Pack
If you’ve not tried the base game yet, read our original review of the iPad version. We chose it as our Game of the Week when it released. The port is free to try for 60 turns and universal so give it a shot to see how it runs on your iOS device at least. Did you play Rise and Fall or Gathering Storm already?

Where are you finding the news about the release? I don't see it on Aspyr website or in their social media.
If you click through to the linked article, you'll see all the dates are two days past what's listed above. So: Poland from 12/20 to 12/22, etc., etc.

I was able to get Poland pack for free two days ago, Poland offer is now expired. ohbalto is correct. You should be able to get the Viking pack for free now, just make sure to download it before 22nd of Dec, just to be on the safe side... I just downloaded the Viking pack for free. Tyvm Aspyr! I just went in to the Civ VI app and was able to "purchase" both Poland and Vikings for free. Everything else has prices associated, so either there was overlap between the 12/18 to 12/20 for Poland and the 12/20 to 12/22 for Vikings, something's lagging, or I got quite lucky.

They do overlap as per above schedule , which I didn’t notice before. I guess we are both lucky. Wonder why it works for some and not for others, maybe because they are on a different timezone? I am from Australia but I didn’t encounter any issue.

Now Australia -- which was supposed to be free from 12/22 to 12/24 -- is free (it's 12/21).
Also, Rise & Fall is $14.99. That seems like a discount, but I'm not 100% certain.

we now only have 3 lots of ‘confusion’ to go ( persia, nubia, khmer) 😂. Still, a small price to pay for free dlc’s 😁. I have no intention of buying the expansions, too expensive for me this time of the year, Rise and Fall is around $22 here in Australia., plus the game still has a few bugs, I will wait until those have been addressed by the dev.
