As a long time admirer of games that aren’t afraid to be weird, I certainly appreciate and respect what Goat Simulator ($6.99) has done. I mean, you wouldn’t think a buggy, janky game where you play a total jerk of a goat would strike it big, but it did. Gosh, did it ever. There are now tons of Goat Simulator games across multiple platforms, each offering their own variety of madcap entertainment. If you’ve been wondering what the deal is with this series but were too afraid to plunk down the money to see what it’s all about, I’ve got some good news for you today. The original Goat Simulator is now available for free, for the first time ever.
When our own villainous Carter Dotson reviewed the game, he described it as a “sandbox of absurdity", and that’s pretty much the best way you could describe Goat Simulator. When Jared Nelson awarded it with our Game of the Week, he called it “a game that lets you simulate life as a psychotic goat in an open-world physics sandbox", which is also a sensible description. It’s kind of a stupid toy more than it is a game, but it’s an incredibly entertaining stupid toy. But you know, I could see words like those not exactly selling the game to people. It’s great that it’s free at the moment so that people can see if this particular lunacy is up their alley or not.
As of this writing, I’m not sure why the game is free or for how long, so act quickly if you want to grab it. One-day sales are popular around this time of the year, after all. You might only enjoy Goat Simulator for ten minutes or so, but I promise, those will be a solid ten minutes. Go ahead. Lick some cars. Head-butt some nice people. Ride the fireworks. Be the weird jerk goat.

Now I am just tired, cranky, almost out of coffee and have to take the kid to the bus stop... first world problems are simply the worst!

At this point, I'd say yeah...the most probable thing would be an hour and 10 minutes from now. 12 AM PST (10 AM here in Lebanon). If that doesn't happen, I could see the game being released around the time the App Store normal refreshes, which is just over 8 hours from now. Crossing my fingers for the former though.

They gave a Dec 15th launch date, so I assume it will be launched once all times zones are the 15th, but before any time zones reach the 16th. If it's not at 12 Pacific, it will be close to that.
I think that they will release the game midnight and all of the users that decide to get notify will get it sometime around 12PM according to it's time zone. That would be clever. The game is available worldwide some hours before the notification and finally all of the users are notified according to where they live.
It's 1:58 am in southern Ontario right now and I have a feeling the game will be out when I wake up, my guess is it will be released between 8-9 am

Why couldn't Nintendo just do it normally and release at midnight like everyone else? Or at least communicate the launch time if they were going to do something different? I waited up till midnight and checked my phone multiple times through the night waiting for the game to launch. 😡

Well, it's 10AM on Dec. 15th here in Denmark and it's not released here yet, so I think once all timezones are on the 15th it will be released.
When all the time zones hit the 15th, half the world will be the 16th.
That's not accurate. There is a difference of 24 hours between the eastern part and the western part of the world. So, when all timezones hit the 15th, there will be an hour before the eastern part enter the 16th.
Except than the GMT+13 time zone (yes, there is one)

Yeah, over the years, I've come to the conclusion that paying attention to rumors of the sort, generally is more of a waste of time, than anything else, really. Stuff will drop when it drops. And checking every 15 to 30 mins just slows down everything else you're doing.

Usually you release something, and notify afterwards. It doesnt make any sense to bound the release to the notification. However...
supermariorun.com stated the release date with (PST) behind it. So why not release at 00:00 PST and notify people individually per country. This would make much more sense then give one notification once for all worldwide.
