A new way to install emulators without jailbreaking has once again appeared online. Similar to the last time this happened, the new method seems to sidestep the previous shutdown via a next-level exploit: Changing the date on your device.
Installation is as simple as launching your device settings, heading to the “General” section, then delving into “Date & Time”. Turn off “Set Automatically”, and roll the date back to 2012. From there, load up this web site and go nuts installing Gameboy Advance, Super Nintendo, Game Gear, NES, iDOS, and tons of other emulators.
WARNING: Installing these sorts of things from a web site you’ve never heard of is super risky. I installed both the SNES4iOS and GBA4iOS emulators on my iPad mini, and they seem to at least launch without issue, but it’s entirely possible that they’re doing something shady under the hood. Install these at your own risk, and, if nothing else, I wouldn’t run them on a device that has anything you care about keeping private. When you bypass the App Store to install software, you’re skipping over all the protection Apple’s walled garden offers. While it’s equally possible that these emulators are entirely innocuous, it’s impossible to say for sure.
Wow
Very well deserved! In a week with a couple big titles, I'm glad this one made it. Such a good game.
I really pity you having to choose between this and Rayman. Fair choice, would have come down to the flip of a coin for me.
Or appcake :)
Yes, let's support devs getting shafted and the forced continuation of freemium to combat piracy.
NoooOooOoooOoooO!
Don't say that, that's BAD!
If only it didn't crash so much just trying to use THAT BIG DRAW.
Really torn on getting this. Can't stop playing football heroes. Just worried about the crashes and my mini.
Went ahead and bought and having a flipping blast. It's completely different than any dual stick I've ever played. Definitely see why it got gotw!
Don't get it if you have an older device, it crashes on the first level. The devs say they're working on optimizing it, so hopefully that'll be fixed sometime soon.
I have to agree. Between Meltdown and Rayman i would have a difficult time to decide but i believe i would choose Meltdown...
There's one thing that nobody seemed to point out yet though, and that's the music.
This is probably the only game on the AppStore that is deserving of a solid dubstep soundtrack. It all just adds to the fun of the gun-toting mayhem! :D
Time to download this game from appcake. Arggg!
Please ban this guy
Rayman, looks stunning and it's made for mobile, controls are flawless
Meltdown was also made for mobile.
But meltdown would work better with a controller, which ios does not have yet
I agree, Meltdown would work better with a controller but so would a lot of games, including Rayman. Even though the touchscreen controls for Rayman are great, nothing beats the feel of real controls.
Great choice! Great game, especially on the Apple TV.
Best new game: Meltdown
Best sequel: Pacific Skies
That's great. I really enjoy the look of this game. It offers something great for players
So much fun. Easy to lvl up skills and weapons making iap completely unnecessary.
This one has a lot of potential, but the decision to use the same button for melee attack and roll (which is useful for retreat) is, literally, a game-killer. Incredibly frustrating once you hit the higher levels.
