The massive Genshin Impact (Free) 2.0 update finally went live this week bringing a new region and more with the highlight being PS4/PS5 cross save with other platforms. Today, miHoYo had a surprise announcement about Genshin Impact‘s first ever collaboration. Beginning version 2.1, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn will be joining Genshin Impact as a 5 star character on PlayStation platforms. Genshin Impact version 2.2 will allow all players on any platform to get Aloy. PlayStation players who get Aloy can continue using Aloy in-game on all platforms though from version 2.1.
If you’re curious about how to get Aloy in Genshin Impact, you need to be Adventure Rank 20 or higher and you will get 5 star Aloy through the in-game mail on PS4/PS5 once you sign into the game on those platforms in version 2.1. All platform players who don’t sign in on PS4/PS5 will be able to claim Aloy from the in-game mail with Genshin Impact version 2.2. Aloy’s Predator (Bow) will also be available through in-game mail. This is definitely one of the more surprising collaborations and one I didn’t ever expect.
If you haven’t checked out Genshin Impact yet, you can download it for free on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. The PC version is available on the official website here and the Epic Games Store. If you play on iOS, with iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5, you can now use PS5 and Xbox Series X|S controllers to play Genshin Impact. We featured Genshin Impact as our Game of the Week when it released and awarded it our 2020 Game of the Year. Have you been playing Genshin Impact 2.0 and what do you think of the new region?
