One of the better games you can experience on Apple’s gaming subscription service Apple Arcade is Little Orpheus from developer The Chinese Room, makers of such titles as Dear Esther and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. In fact we picked Little Orpheus as one of the Best Apple Arcade Games of 2020. In short, Little Orpheus follows a similar format to games like Limbo or Inside in that it’s a cinematic side-scrolling adventure where you’ll slowly make your way further and further largely through trial and error. However, while mechanically simplistic, Little Orpheus goes to town in the storytelling and production values departments, and like previous games from The Chinese Room the emphasis is really on the overall experience rather than a test of gameplay prowess.
With that being the case, fans that have completed Little Orpheus have had a feeling that there’s still more left to tell with the story, and while some additional content was added to the game last fall in the form of The Lost Recordings update, The Chinese Room has now officially announced a whole new additional episode for the game. Episode 9 of Little Orpheus is titled “A Rush Of Onion To The Head" and you can see a wee bit of description in the Twitter thread below. Best of all is that this new update is scheduled to arrive this Friday, which could be mere hours away for you based on your position on the globe, so be sure to keep an eye out for the update in the App Store very soon.

''Beneath the fins I spotted the apertures of hoses, and was reminded of the time Auntie Agrafina devised a contraption to water all of her copious algae beds simultaneously with one flush of the toilet, by a system of pipes and valves that ran throughout her house.''
