Today’s ‘Mario Kart Tour’ Update Adds Auto Mode, Improving Special Skills on Increasing a Level, and More

TouchArcade Rating:

Last week, Mario Kart Tour‘s (Free) big 1st Anniversary Tour began with five city-themed courses and a new variant of New York Minute. This tour event is available until October 21st on iOS and Android. Mario Kart Tour has had themed tour events, new features, and more arrive through regular updates on iOS and Android. Today, another major update (version 2.6.0) has released on both platforms bringing in a very useful feature: Auto mode. This lets you watch drivers race automatically through courses and take screenshots to share. When a level is increased, you can now improve a driver’s special skill. When a driver, kart, or glider is leveled up, a few of their favored courses are upgraded to favourite courses. Watch the Mario Kart Tour 1st Anniversary Tour trailer below:

Thankfully the auto mode in Mario Kart Tour isn’t locked behind the paid subscription like it is in some other free to play games. Barring the new features, Peach (Kimono), Mario (Musician), Baby Rosalina (Detective), Shy Guy (Pastry Chef), and Wario (Hiker) are now available as spotlight drivers part of the second week of the 1st Anniversary Tour event. If you’ve not checked it out yet, Mario Kart Tour is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. Be sure to check out the thread in our forums for more discussion around Mario Kart Tour.
