But I will hold my criticism until I try it for myself. I still got Mario Run on my phone. Bought the full game the day one. Best decision ever. But I'm afraid it's not gonna be the same with Mario Kart Tour. Considering the amount of IAP and whatnot. I'm really curious how bad it actually is. I think with Apple Arcade they’ll be other games with monthly subscriptions as well. Not paying monthly for this I’ll give it a go (if I could get it to work as it’s saying servers are too busy but I won’t get too excited ROGER-NL Well-Known Member May 21, 2012 4,030 340 83 Male Gamer. Gameplay looks and feels ok, but the manual drift mode feels "floaty" and imprecise. I was really looking forward to this, because I'm a huge BigN fan, but Dr. Mario and now this are a huge turn off for me. Sure, the controls could be better and the monetization system is so so but it is what i expected from a Mario Kart game on iPhone. Nintendo seems to think on iOS it has to be one hand gaming all the time which it doesnt. Really was hoping it was like the Mario game with one IAP to unlock it. sivad Well-Known Member Mar 28, 2013 641 1 16 #11 sivad, Sep 25, 2019 I’m quite certain that Nintendo will be just fine without everyone’s whining about IAP... not sure if anyone has noticed but premium games on iOS just don’t make sustainable money. Game is fun, it does what it is intended. Don’t like IAP, don’t buy. Go get a switch and buy MARIO Kart on it for 60 bucks. Charles Elwood Gay III likes this. It’s starting to take over and it is not ok. It never was ok and nor will it ever be ok. Endlessly paying for something that you will never own? That’s a terrible idea. Premium developers and gamers will both end up suffering horribly in the long run. When I first started with Apple, I treated all the money I was spending over the years on Apps and iDevices as an investment. These days, trying to keep ahold of my Apple ‘investment’ is like water running through fingers. This subscription method of payment is only going to make things so much worse. I apologise for my rant but someone had to say it didn’t they? I can’t be the only one who thinks this way. A premium game for a premium dollar, that’s how the AppStore should’ve started. Instead we now have to lie in the uncomfortable bed we made. Ijipop, decript, maikelg and 4 others like this. That Playtek or whatever theyre called are buying games up and its $9.99 a month but i cant see that working. 'Perhaps' if Nintendo dont make tons with this subscription model they'll change it But blame all the cheapskates who wouldnt buy premium games at a 'huge' $2.99 or so and always begged for promo codes/price drops and more. The early days of the App store was superb. Apple Arcade i'll pay for 100% but not single games like this. Everything else about the game i like, looks great, controls are 'okayish' but i'm glad to have Mario Kart on my phone but then all the freemium elements ruin it. The drift option is what I want, but then you can’t touch the iPhone without doing a drift. Am I missing something? Even if you tap and hold behind the kart, you will start to drift. Wish I could turn normally then tap with second finger or lift and tap for drift or something. Anyone else getting the hang of the one finger controls?! The feel of Mario Kart is here, and the tracks are a good length. Drift mode is hard at first, but I personally got the hang of it quite well. Still needs a lot of improvements, but it's one of the better karting games. Certainly better than Sonic Racing on Apple Arcade.
