‘Mario Kart Tour’ Adds a Landscape Mode Option with a New Control Layout in Tomorrow’s Update

TouchArcade Rating:

Mario Kart Tour (Free) currently has the Heavy Hitters Pipe available until July 23rd that features Dry Bowser, Funky Kong, Wario, and Rosalina. Nintendo just revealed a long awaited feature finally coming to the game in Tuesday’s update. If you haven’t played Mario Kart Tour in a while, a prior update even added a team game rule and room code feature. Details for those features are here. Today, Nintendo revealed that landscape mode support is finally coming to Mario Kart Tour. This will bring a new control layout as well. From the moment gameplay was finally shown off for Mario Kart Tour, I saw loads of people wanting a landscape racing option. Watch the trailer for the landscape mode update below:

With the last few events, Nintendo has been bringing new characters to Mario Kart Tour while fans of the mainline Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have been wanting Dixie Kong and more to join that game. Considering that game sells better than everything else on Nintendo Switch, I’m surprised to see barely any post launch support. If you’ve been waiting for landscape mode on Mario Kart Tour, your wait ends on July 21st when the next update goes live. If you’ve not checked it out yet, Mario Kart Tour is available for free on the App Store and Google Play. Be sure to check out the thread in our forums for more discussion around Mario Kart Tour.
