‘Legend of the Skyfish 2’ from Crescent Moon Games and Mother Gaia Studio Is This Week’s New Apple Arcade Game

TouchArcade Rating:

We went hands on with Legend of the Skyfish 2 () from Crescent Moon Games and other Gaia Studio back in 2018 at GDC. It showed a lot of promise and we were already fans of Legend of the Skyfish and Legend of the Skyfish Zero. Read our review of Legend of the Skyfish here. Legend of the Skyfish 2 is a singleplayer adventure game that has you taking on the role of one of the last Red Hook guardians. Watch the new Apple Arcade launch trailer for it below:

Legend of the Skyfish 2 has gorgeous hand painted visuals. There are three weapon options and it looks like a fun experience if you enjoy puzzles from The Legend of Zelda series. The sky(fish) is the limit with you and your fishing pole in Legend of the Skyfish 2. Last week, Apple took a break from new releases. I really wish subscribers were told when to expect new games because this is now feeling more and more like Nintendo’s online subscription where paying subscribers have no clue when to expect new NES and SNES games. Did you enjoy Legend of the Skyfish and what do you think of Apple Arcade’s additions recently?

Apple Arcade isn’t what I presumed it would be. I was under the impression that we would be seeing AAA console games with controller support or scaled down Versions of console games like Doom, Street Fighter 5, Mortal Kombat 11, The Witcher 3 and /or most games that are on the Switch (Switch is less powerful than iPhone 8!). Instead, we still get sub par games.

Uh, what? You thought we’d get console-style games like MK11, Doom, Witcher 3, etc all for just $5 a month?

        1. gsaint73

No, that was before the price was announced. If they had a subscription starting at 20-30$ per month then I would expect AAA. We have devices that are capable but go to waste for nothing.

i agree with you, the games dont worth it :/

Well, apparently you were the only one. They never marketed it as AAA console gaming in mobile form. They have partnered with big AAA studios to create some new experiences sure, but never on the scale of The Witcher 3 or Doom like you've mentioned.

Apple Arcade is a great service to support indie game developers. If indie games aren’t for you than arcade really isn’t worth it. I actually like the service a lot.
