Physics-Based Horizontal Shoot ’em Up ‘The Day We Fought Space’ Gets a New Trailer

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of when we first posted the trailer for an upcoming game called The Day We Fought Space from developer Tursiops Truncatus Studios. That original trailer caught our attention due to the concept of the game. Basically it’s a side-scrolling shoot ’em up but with a robust physics system that allows you to launch objects and even enemy ships into each other to create massive chain reactions of destruction. The Day We Fought Space also has an array of super unique weaponry, some of which is directly inspired by having a full physics engine at your fingertips. Now a year out from that initial trailer and Tursiops Studios has released a brand new teaser trailer for The Day We Fought Space showing the current state of the game, check it out.

A couple of months after posting the original trailer, we were able to meet with Tursiops Studios in person to get a hands-on demo of The Day We Fought Space during GDC 2019. The game was even more impressive in person and a lot of fun to play, and it’s one I’ve been looking forward to ever since. While there’s currently no solid release date, the game has been in beta for some time now, and if you want to get in on that beta for yourself you can find links to the developer’s Discord channel in the game’s thread in our forums. Once we get word of a release date for The Day We Fought Space we’ll be sure to give you a heads up.
