Stardew Valley ($4.99) on iOS is pretty damn amazing. It has received multiple updates fixing and enhancing controls and bringing new content. Read our review of the iOS version. We even featured it as our Game of the Week. The big 1.4 update for the game has just gone live on PC platforms today with the mobile version arriving soon. The 1.4 update adds a lot of new things to Stardew Valley ranging from quality of life improvements, new music, better controls, and more. ConcernedApe says every aspect of the game’s content has been expanded or improved.
There are a few things to note for this update. If you regularly play on iOS and PC, your saves will not be compatible anymore until the 1.4 update hits mobile. Keep this in mind. If you transfer a 1.3 save from mobile to 1.4 on PC, you will not be able to bring it back to mobile until 1.4 hits mobile. This update adds a new end game mystery, new character events, fish ponds, a new farm map (!), 60 new items, 14 new music tracks, massive improvements to collections, and more. I can’t wait to check this out on iOS and Nintendo Switch. The full patch notes are here but there are spoilers so be warned.
If you’ve not gotten Stardew Valley on iOS or Android yet, you can buy it on iOS here on the App Store and for Android here on Google Play. This is a free update. You can also bring your PC save to iOS and if you aren’t sure how to do it, read this but keep in mind that PC 1.4 to mobile 1.3 saves are not compatible. Here’s our forum thread on the game for more discussion.
