‘Black Desert Mobile’ Will Soft Launch on Android this Week, Full Release Still On Track for December

We’ve been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Black Desert Mobile, the mobile version of Pearl Abyss’s popular MMORPG on desktop and console, for more than two years now, and were extremely jealous of players in Pearl Abyss home country of Korea when the game soft-launched there in the spring of last year. We checked out that soft-launched version and loved it, but it wasn’t really clear when the rest of the world would be able to get in on the fun. Then last month Pearl Abyss put up Black Desert Mobile for pre-order on the App Store and Google Play with an expected release date of December 12th. Now Pearl Abyss has announced that the Android version of Black Desert Mobile will be soft-launching this Thursday, October 24th.

The soft launch will be available to Android players in Canada, Chile, Sweden, Malaysia, Turkey, Ireland and Australia, and ahead of that soft-launch you can still pre-register on the Google Play Store. The desktop and console versions of Black Desert Online have amassed more than 20 million players, and the mobile version that had previously soft-launched in East Asia has already amassed 10 million more players. That really speaks to the power of the mobile audience and the absolutely staggering number of mobile device users. If you’re in one of the countries listed above and are an Android owner, check out Black Desert Mobile when it soft-launches later this week, and everyone else can look forward to checking out the full launch in December.
