‘Gunslugs: Rogue Tactics’ Running a Public Desktop Beta Next Week, New Trailer Released

We’ve been following the saga of the third Gunslugs game from developer Orangepixel for quite some time now. First revealed in November of 2017, Gunslugs: Rogue Tactics is more than just another sequel in the popular run-and-gun platformer series. As its subtitle implies there’s a much heavier emphasis on tactics and stealth mechanics, and while the nonstop chaos of the previous games was fun in short bursts, I actually think what’s going on with Rogue Tactics is much more interesting. Work on the game has been ongoing since that original announcement, but this past January Orangepixel revealed that they had completely overhauled the game’s graphics which they showed off in a new trailer, and the following month they released yet another lengthy gameplay trailer. Gunslugs: Rogue Tactics was looking fantastic with the graphical overhaul being a huge improvement, and its different gameplay mechanics were all starting to gel together nicely. This week a brand new trailer has been released that, unlike previous trailers which were mostly uncut gameplay footage, really shows off a great synopsis of what the entire game is all about.

That’s not all the exciting news though, as Gunslugs: Rogue Tactics is finally at a point where it’s ready for a more robust beta. It’s been in limited testing already, but next week a public beta will be launching for both Windows and Mac desktop. The game will be coming to Steam in addition to mobile, and you can actually wishlist it on Steam right now, but for the time being this particular beta test is limited to the desktop version and only be running over next weekend from Friday May 10th to Sunday May 13th. If you’d like to get in on that your best bet is to visit the game’s official website and from there hit up the link to the Orangepixel Discord server where you’ll find instructions on how to sign up for the beta. All I know is that a public beta means the game is getting pretty darn close to being finished, so hopefully it isn’t too long before we’re all playing the release version of Gunslugs: Rogue Tactics on our mobile or desktop devices.
