‘FTL’-Inspired Strategy Title ‘Space Haven’ Gets a First Trailer and New Screens

Way back in October of 2016, we were all excited over an upcoming game called Space Haven from developer Bugbyte who was responsible for the Battlevoid series of real-time strategy games. Even those pre-alpha early screens of Space Haven looked extremely promising, and with influences like FTL and X-COM there was every reason to be excited for this one. Bugbyte has popped into the Space Haven thread in our forums since then providing progress updates to fans, with a big update arriving just about this same time last year showing off some new screens of the game. We last checked in on the game this past June showing off even more new screens and details, and now Bugbyte is back with another big update including new info, new screens, and (drumroll please) a new trailer! Check out Space Haven in action below.

As exciting as this is, there’s still a long road ahead for Space Haven. They’re going the crowdfunding route to help get the game to the finish line, and will launch a Kickstarter campaign at some point in February or March. Backers will get access to an early version of the game on PC/Mac/Linux and the team will tweak and add to the game based on the feedback they get from those early players. Hopefully not too long after that a final version of the game will be released on Steam, and then at some point afterwards Bugbyte will be bringing Space Haven to mobile. It’s going to be a long journey! If backing the game and getting in on the beta interests you, you can find all sorts of information in this post on how to follow Bugbyte to keep up to date with everything. If you want to just ignore all that and play the final version when it hits mobile, well we’ll be keeping our eye on how things progress and will bring any news directly to your eyeballs.
