Back in May we showed you some animated gifs from an upcoming puzzle adventure game from 4L Games called Fracter, and now we have learned that the game will be launching next week on Friday the 13th. It’s a pretty apt release date, as what was previously shown off in those brief animated gifs was a highly atmospheric game with stark black and white visuals and some subtly creepy creatures chasing the main character around. It looked like a smart blend of the isometric puzzling of Monument Valley and the unsettling atmosphere of Limbo. Alongside the release date announcement comes the very first trailer for Fracter, and it only reinforces the creepiness of the game.
I’m digging the vibe in Fracter! As the developers describe it: “Fracter follows a veiled young hero who has set out on a perilous quest to conquer their own darkness. On their journey, players must explore a world in shadows, discover secrets hidden in the dark and outsmart ominous creatures as they solve a series of meticulously designed puzzles." Fracter will be coming to both iOS and Android on Friday the 13th at a price of $3.99. If you want to get ahead of the game (HEH) then you can pre-order the iOS version of the right now. Just click this link on an iOS 11 device and you’ll be taken to the App Store to pre-order, and then when the game launches next week it’ll automatically download to your device. If you prefer the old-school method of waiting for a game to release, then gear up for Fracter a week from tomorrow on Friday the 13th.
