Square Enix finally announced the release month for the Android version of Life is Strange (Free). Life is Strange debuted on iOS late last year with in app purchases to unlock the rest of the episodes for the time travelling adventure. It was scheduled to release on Android after iOS and we finally have not just a release month but also the pre-registrations beginning for Life is Strange for Android. The Android version will only support devices running on Android 6.0 or later with OpenGL 3.1. You also need a device with 2GB RAM minimum. If you missed the iOS release and are curious how it plays on touch, read my review of the first episode here. For Android, all episodes will be available in July and you won’t need to wait like iOS gamers had to for later episodes. One intersting thing to note is while the iOS version lacked proper controller support, the Android version will have full controller support. This is also apparently exclusive to the Android version implying no plans to bring the feature to iOS at all. This is definitely disappointing for iOS gamers. I thought we’d get proper controller support on iOS and not nothing at all but here we are.
You can pre-register for Life is Strange on Google Play. Here’s our forum thread for the iOS release with discussion around the game.
