The release of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth on iOS has been a bit of a saga since it originally didn’t make it through Apple’s review process for its depictions of violence against children. Now we finally know that the game has been approved by Apple, and it’s on the way soonish. Today, producer Tyrone Rodriguez posted a screenshot on his Twitter account that shows the game played on both an iPad and an iPhone. We knew it was coming to both devices, but we didn’t know much about how it would actually look when it did arrive. I’m an avid player of the PC version of the game, and I like what they are doing with the iOS version. When you turn your device portrait mode, the inventory and the map takes up the bottom half of the screen and Isaac gets to run around on the top half. You can also see the two thumbsticks on the iPhone side of the screen.

I do wonder whether the game will be hard to play on an iPhone in portrait mode because of how accurate you need to be when navigating Isaac through a ton of bullets and enemies. The tweet also notes that the game will be MFi-compatible, so that’s good news. You can go join all the other fans of the game in our forum thread. Can’t wait to play this game on my tablet.
