At Long Last ‘Warhammer 40,000: Regicide’ is Coming to iOS on May 19th

It’s hard to believe that it was nearly two years ago to the day that we first talked about Warhammer: 40,000: Regicide, a brutal take on Chess set in the Warhammer universe. The folks at developer Hammerfall Publishing have been busy with the game since then, first releasing it to Steam Early Access in May of last year ahead of a full PC launch in September. Warhammer 40,000: Regicide on PC has received a pretty positive reception since its release, and now things are finally coming full circle as Hammerfall has announced that the iOS version is finally set to launch next week on May 19th. Here’s a brand new trailer for the iOS version of Regicide.

Hammerfall says that the iOS version of Regicide is more than a simple port, and that they’ve redesigned the experience for mobile with new features like “cross-platform multiplayer, universal accounts, new board layouts, asynchronous networking and unique faction abilities." In addition, they’ll be running a special promotion to celebrate the iOS launch by giving players on both iOS and PC all upcoming DLC for free for the first 12 days after release. This includes a new 20 mission prequel campaign, a new Ork Clan called the Blood Axes, and a new environment called the Imperial Garrison. It’s been a long time coming but I think Warhammer 40,000: Regicide will be a perfect fit for mobile, so look for it next Thursday, May 19th at a price of $3.99.
