Muti Labs’ ‘Days of Discord’ is an Upcoming iPad Card-Battler with Live Multiplayer

Muti Labs, run by the former head of games at Disney Interactive, has just revealed a trailer for their upcoming game Days of Discord, their take on the popular card collecting and battling genre that’s gone nuclear all across gaming. You’ll choose a faction, building up your champion with equipment and power cards, fighting other players in live matches. Yep, no asynchronous multiplayer, this is head-to-head with real players in real-time. That might be why this one is iPad-only at first. Hearthstone (Free) was the same way at first, after all.

Along with the introductory tutorial and both ranked and unranked matches, you can do AI practice matches and timed challenge solo battles that will cost you your Powers cards if you’re not careful. Certainly, this is a growing genre, and it might be tough to stand out, but I kinda dig the presentation of this on, especially with the 3D effects in battles. If you’re curious to check out the game, it’s currently in soft launch, though there’s no worldwide launch date set quite yet.
