I finally remembered where I stashed it; it’s in the garage in a big, brown box. What you might ask? My plastic Guitar Hero instrument, of course, the one I spent so many hours playing and then put it in my garage thinking it was the last I’d ever see it but too nostalgic to toss it. Well, apparently corpses aren’t the only creatures reanimating recently because, as we’ve written about recently, Guitar Hero Live is coming soon, and it will be playable on mobile devices too (though the developers haven’t released info on which mobile devices the game will be available, I’d be willing to put money down that it’s coming to iOS).
Activision has now given us a taste of what to expect by revealing the first 24 songs of the game’s set list (as per exclusive Rolling Stones article). Jamie Jackson, the head of GHL developer, FreeStyleGames, described the challenge inherent in trying to stay true to the rock roots of the original Guitar Hero games while keeping in mind that the original one came out a decade ago. With music tastes changing so rapidly in the age of youtube, itunes, and the internet in general, GHL developers have tried to please the wide-range of musical tastes of today’s and yesterday’s youth. Do you think they’ve managed it, or is this set list making you cringe?
