The previous bar for “winning the App Store lottery" was getting featured on the App Store, then it got raised to being Editor’s Choice, and now it’s apparently “have Apple make a TV commercial about your game." Or, at least, that’s the trail the recently released Metal-powered MOBA Vainglory (Free) is on. Check it out:
We loved Vainglory in our review, so it’s not much of a surprise seeing it get this kind of love. That being said, while games are sometime briefly featured in Apple ads, it’s rare for them to focus entirely on the gaming power of iOS devices. Hopefully the trend continues, as Apple encouraging more Vainglory-like quality level games on the App Store would be a very good thing.
