Pocket Gamer reports that PopCap, makers of the popular web-based game Bejeweled for the iPhone and iPod touch, is currently developing several native iPhone games to be sold through the iTunes App Store.
PopCap VP James Gwertzman, in a recent interview with Pocket Gamer, revealed that the company is very excited about Apple’s mobile device as a gaming platform.
“We love the iPhone," he says. “I’ve seen some of the stuff we’re working on in our lab, and it’s a terrific gaming device. The screen is beautiful, it’s powerful, and the interface is incredibly intuitive."
The company is preparing to launch a new (undisclosed) title which Gwertzman describes as their best yet. We’re anxious to see what the company has in store. Stay tuned.
I tried the free version out yesterday, it was terrible.
Yeah the game isn't ready yet but like I said Friday the online levels will be opened and for the games sake they better have their servers ready for that.
Played this yesterday, very laggy, don't waste your time.
Oh wow. I remember playing what's now known as Graal Classic around 8 or so years ago. It was a great game, I can't say I like the direction the company that makes it (CyberJouer or something?) has gone in, though.
I'm gonna give this a go, although I'm not expecting much.
I just try to finish the tutorial online level (kind of co-op).
I can say if the controls sux because of lag or because of the accelerometer.
Anyway the accelerometer is far not enough sensitive, i mean how can i play a game when i only see the side of my iphone?
Btw good luck at the devs for the following.
pawn looks better, which unfortunately you cannot play on the touch
Hmmm ... just tried to grab it and it comes up saying it is no longer available.
I get the same message.
Unusual, eh?
The game will be real nice when it has been updated. Apple released Graal Zone too early, while the game wasn't finished yet.
I can't find this game in the App Store...but I had it earlier. Why was it taken off?
It's removed from the app store
I haven't played Graal Zone for the iPhone yet, but I know the online version is an amazing game, I've been addicted to it for years. Just based on that I'd say it's worth trying, just will you be able to talk to other players or just fight them? I'm a little curious.
Very amusing defences from the dev. The game is laggy because the iphone isn't powerful enough? Do me a lemon. I was playing ultima 1-8 on a 486 12 years ago, and i need a program to LOWER the frame rates for the first 5 of the series. The fact that you can't accept criticism is one thing, but creating obviously ridiculous excuses is quite another. You remind me of the guys on pop idol, insisting their 'friends' think they are amazing singers. Your game leaves a LOT to be desires, even as a free app. For the price it is, you really are having a laugh. Look at the quality of other apps for the same price, given your insistence on keeping the graphics very dated for nostalgia, you should at least have a game that is VERY smooth, very few loading times, with a much improved interface. That should be standard, before getting onto the actual gameplay/storyline.
lol posted on teh wrong thread, please ignore.
hey daniel its me Nasko
HOW DO I GET IT!!!!!!!!!!
Lol, I don't think this is not being worked on anymore...
They removed it from the store.
I hope they bring it back, though, with other servers like Era!
Funny cause eras out. Three years later trolololoololoololololool
