A beautifully designed puzzle game boasting of eye-catching graphics, smooth game controls and solid gameplay in an appropriately creepy claustrophobic atmosphere.

PanicRoom puts you in the biggest challenge of your life - to find your way out of a series of locked rooms in order to survive. The only way out is to solve a variety of clues and find/use various objects to look for hidden items and more clues. You can inspect, perform actions and use items in your inventory. You can perform actions on objects like drawers and doors, combine two objects or separate to pick up objects.


Graphics are cartoony and slightly surreal at the same time - the limited view adds to a sense of claustrophobia, especially in the first room. I like the play of colors and the oddly shaped objects as these contribute to the overall mood and feel of the game.

Another good thing about this game is its smooth user interface. Game controls are pretty easy to figure out - unlike similar puzzle/quest type of games, this one surprisingly pick-up and play. Mini-games are incorporated into the main game itself in order to uncover clues, adding variety to the gameplay. It's a bit harder to figure out some of the mini-games, as I'm currently stuck on one in the second room.
