On the heels of Super Breakout, Atari has released another classic revamp: Missile Command [App Store].
Defend the cities and don’t let the nukes take out your missile stations. Missile Command for the iPhone is a true evolution of Atari’s classic. For the first time ever, players use the multi-touch feature to launch multiple missiles simultaneously, creating a new experience for this beloved game. Chose to listen to your tunes while playing. Two player support.
Atari has updated the graphics and added multi-touch support to this classic game. The game is priced at $4.99 and is available in the App Store.
Developer JPMartineau left a rather helpful tip to defeating the Bosses as a comment on the YouTube video:
"The trick to fight the bosses is to fill up with powerups. If you have a shield upgrade, you won't get 1-shotted. Also, it's wise to let go the throttle when attacking boss to maximize attack time. One last trick - going counter clockwise around the boss, it's easier to avoid the enemy fire. Remember to go fill up on energy when you're hit."
