10tons is no stranger to top down shooters or roguelikes. Over the last few years, 10tons has brought a lot of its catalogue to iOS with great games like Neon Chrome [$6.99] or Time Recoil [$5.99]. When we wrote about Time Recoil as the Game of the Week, Jared discussed how JYDGE [$8.99] was getting some good reviews on consoles and PC and whether it would make its way to iOS. Well 10tons have sorted all that out by putting it up for pre-order on the App Store right now for $4.99 with a release date set for January 18th. Watch the trailer below:

JYDGE is a top down roguelike shooter that lets you build and augment your JYDGE. It will be a premium release on iOS and will cost $9.99 after the pre-order and launch week discount of 50% off expires. Iโ€™m excited to give this a go when it releases next week because I quite liked Neon Chrome on both Switch and iOS. Read our review for Neon Chrome here. Iโ€™m glad to see more incentive for pre-orders happen on the App Store. Hopefully we see developers offering in game items and the system evolving more as time goes by.

As always with 10Tons, this is an amazing game. Brutally hard, but really fun in the beta. It is a combo shooter and RPG-lite.

Now thatโ€™s an incentive! This system might just work with incentives like this. If it does work and does help with sales it might give more Devโ€™s an incentive to also do launch sales. I know a lot of them are doing it already but this will hopefully help spread the trend

Ugh, the Pre-Order system on consoles and pc games is toxic. I really hope it doesn't go that direction. Half-off a pre-order is a lot different than overly marked up bundles of BS with your pre-ordered game though.

"lawful but awful roguehate top-down shooter" What does that mean? Is it roguelike or anti-roguelike?

To those who played, how does it compare to Neon Chrome ?

I find Neon Chrome a bit too fast paced (even if i enjoy the game), is this the same ?

It is similar, but with a lot more customization that can be done. I find it to be more challenging. Speed is often similar, but more thought is required for Jvdge due to the load outs. Overall it is at least as fun as Neon Chrome, but takes more thought and planning.

I'm IN! Didn't know you could do pre-orders. Neon Chrome is still on my all-time dual sticks favorites!

I played both Neon Chrome and Time Recoil but imo Time Recoil had a lot of similarities in graphics and gameplay and after seeing the trailer of Jydge it seems not so much different than the previous games but I have to see a more extensive play through to see if it plays the same or different than the two earlier released games and than decide to buy it or not.I really like to see a top down shooter but with a realistic style graphics like pirate style environment or WW2 etc.
